Karmen is a strong believer in fitness being a lifestyle and is a walking advertisement of how fitness and movement can change your life. Less than 2-years ago, she had emergency spinal surgery to remove a ruptured disc in her neck; it was her commitment to a fitness lifestyle that ensured her body was in the best condition it could be for surgery and allowed her to recover quickly. Within 3-months she was able to get back to lifting the weights she so loves and competed in a functional fitness competition that same year. She believes that you shouldn’t wait until your health is a problem to make it a priority.
Karmen understands the strong link between mental well-being and physical well-being, which is something she is passionate about educating those she trains, (or anyone that will listen!)
As the ‘academic’ kid at school, Karmen didn’t find the gym until well into her twenties, so can easily identify with those that don’t feel fitness is naturally for them.
Karmen is a Level 3 PT and also a Qualified Olympic Lifting Coach.
